Is there a reason I shouldn’t?

[ He’s unflinching as he tilts his head to watch Mydeimos, eyes flickering over his face. ]

There’s no easy healing in this world.

[ Get trapped. Actually get pressed chest to chest, a thing not entirely unusual for them except that they're talking about marks, not spars. ]

It could give someone ideas. Or, they might take it as an invitation.

[ He reaches up to hook a finger through Phainon's collar, not tugging yet. ]

I thought that was the purpose of being here. For attention.

[ He doesn’t move, eyes a little darker now as they devour Mydei’s face. ]

So it is an invitation, then.

[ Mydei's voice drops an octave lower, his gaze dragging over the marks and Phainon's mouth. Tell me no, he doesn't offer out loud. He tilts his head to breathe into his ear. ]

Would you tell me what they did if I asked?

[cyclus]

It isn’t any of your business to know.

[ Phainon feels flushed and hot at how close they are, cheeks warm even as he denies, denies, denies. His eyes are unflinching as they gaze at his friend. ]

If you have wants, Mydeimos, you don’t need an to poke fun, or beg an invitation, to ask them of me. Don’t be rude.

Maybe I want to hear you beg instead.

[ Mydeimos smirks a little bit to himself, tugging on that collar. He's not so brazen as to push further, waiting to see if Phainon takes the offer. ]

[cyclus]

And ask you for what? I already have your attention.

[ One hand lifts to push absently at his chest, when he feels… That’s new. Isn’t it? ]

I wonder what I could possibly want you to beg for.

[ his tone is dry, but when Phainon plants his hand on his chest and then pauses, he chuckles. ]

That didn't take you long.

[cyclus]

I wouldn’t dare guess.

[ A tease, even as his hand stays where it is. ]

It explains why you’re wearing a shirt, hm?

[ He rolls his eyes; Phainon can probably feel it even though he's still close to his ear. He does finally ease up a little bit. ]

Couldn't give the game away to you too fast.

[cyclus]

I should have assumed. You were very interested in the jewellery we looked at.

[ His hand squeezes gently. ]

[ Squeezing? Now he's just brazenly being felt up; Mydei's not upset about it though. Without answering, he shrugs the jacket off and sets it on the counter behind Phainon, and then lifts up the hem of his shirt, letting it bunch up at the top of his chest.

There are two simple, plain barbells through his nipples; nothing fancy, as he given care instructions and ordered to let them heal. He was told it'd only take a few days, though, which he's now on the end of - that's part of why he went out shopping, not that he tells Phainon. ]

[ Phainon doesn't hear any complaints, so he lets his fingers touch, waiting.

Pulling away when he feels the shirt being removed, his eyes drink in the sight in front of him. Mydeimos has always been handsome, but seeing a piercing on his chest... That's a new kind of allure, and his eyes are dark as he drinks him in. They're not even that fancy, but they're still pretty, enough to leave him momentarily distracted.

Leaning back into the counter, he coughs. ]

[ Mydeimos asks it bluntly with a smirk, using the way his hands are planted on the counter to squeeze his chest together a little. ]

[ Phainon's mouth drops open, he stares, and then he laughs, shaking his head. ]

Do you want me to?

[strifeborne]

Do you always answer an invitation with a question?

[ Mydeimos reaches out to take Phainon's hands, pulling them up towards his chest. ]

[cyclus]

Only when I think it'll annoy you, which I think this might?

[ Deliberate.

Still, his fingers brush over Mydei's chest, over the piercings, and he swallows, licking his lips. ]

[strifeborne]

I wonder how long you can keep it up, then?

[ He turns it from a statement to a question by lilting his words up at the end. At Phainon's touch, though, he lets out a soft breath, as if surprised. ]

Sensitive.

[cyclus]

Ah! You already answered without a question, therefore I'm the victor.

[ Phainon grins, pressing his thumb in, gentle. ]

Do they hurt?

[strifeborne]

It was absolutely a question! Did you not hear my --

[ Phainon pressing his thumb in makes him cut off, shivering slightly at the touch. He scowls a little at that, but he doesn't push his hand away. ]

No, they do not hurt.

[ Maybe a little, but not in any way that Mydei dislikes. ]

[cyclus]

Oh.

[ No, he recognises that look, the way Mydeimos speaks. He's seen it before, when they've been intimate, and it makes his eyes blaze just a little more. ]

You like it.

[strifeborne]

I would not have considered it if I didn't think I would like it.

[ Defensive - this was supposed to be him harassing Phainon, not the other way around! He doesn't pull away, though, planting his hands on the counter again. ]

[cyclus]

No, of course not.

[ Eyes darker, cheeks a little warm, he leans back into the counter. A question bubbles in his mind, but Phainon swallows it back and away. He can’t be selfish here.

Instead, he blinks up at his friend. ]

Stop pouting.

[strifeborne]

I am not pouting.

[ He's absolutely pouting. His mouth is even turned down. ]

[cyclus]

Mydeimos. You look like I stole your pomegranate juice and drank it in front of you.

[ He pokes that pout with one finger. ]
