[ Is it because of the ears at all, or is it because they're not cat ears? Both ears go back at Phainon laughing at him, while Fig Stew makes a curious awoo? from the ground. ]
It's some kind of trick, or glamour. You're sure this isn't Cipher's doing somehow?
[ Yeah he is, looking visibly sulky about the ears as Phainon reaches up to touch one. He doesn't flinch away, of course, as used to Phainon's hands on him as anything in this world and even beyond it. The fur, despite looking like a terrier's, is as soft as his hair, and he closes his eyes a little. ]
Mmm.
[ It's something between a rumble and a grunt; one might even call it a purr, were they willing to throw down in a kitchen. ]
[ Phainon has to bite his cheek to stop himself from beaming, glad that he, at least, gets to do this. As tempting as it is to keep playing, he relents, thumb brushing over the ear one last time. ]
They might go away with time. Let us hope so!
[ And then he's turning, ready to explore again, ignoring the heat on his face. ]
[ He barely keeps from making a disgruntled noise; he wonders if it feels as good for Phainon's ears to be touched as it did his. He ruminates over that as he follows Phainon further into the house.
The bathrooms are nice! We'll be sharing one, and there are at least two others. The attic room that the Cat King can have has its own en suite, it's just smaller.
[ So: decent. Good enough. ]
The bath might be bigger than the one in our apartment.
It might not be a bad idea. I know Cipher has different preferences, and I don't know enough about the Cat King yet to know if he'd enjoy the same things as her.
He enjoyed fish when I made it for him, and wine... When I slept at his place, we mostly ate snacks. We'll need a good stock of food for Vyvyan and Marmalade, actually...
[ He's working really hard to think of things to make the house a home for his friends - does he need to go and get a stack of blankets for his cats? Agh. ]
[ He doesn't immediately clock the thought of pets, assuming Phainon is just kind-hearted enough to extend the offer to live to people the Cat King knows. ]
The kitchen is large enough to share if he doesn't like what's served, at the very least.
Iβll go back to the market later. Oh, we could go together!
[ Phainon has claimed the room with windows facing the dawn for himself, the shared bathroom between it. He motions for Mydei to open it and step inside happily. ]
[ Mydeimos shakes his head at Phainon's gesture, but does as requested, pushing open the door. Fig Stew is first in, hopping over his feet to examine the room.
The sun shines through Phainon's side, as expected, illuminating everything in gold. It hits Mydeimos, making him squint a little before he turns and opens the door to the bathroom. It's obviously intended for two or more people to utilize at one time and have space to do so, with both a deep tub, and a shower attachment that likely won't see much use.
He opens the other door to step into the room that he's claimed - a similar size and shape to Phainon's, just mirrored, so that the sun will hit as it goes down. He takes in the prepared furniture, his ears twitching to and fro. ]
It's impressive. There's a few changes I'd like to make, but they're all aesthetic in nature.
[ Like painting the walls red instead of white, or trading the nice looking plain bed for something more luxurious. ]
[ Phainon is a little apprehensive, unsure how Mydeimos will react to the room, to the layout, to the cottage itself.
He needs him to approve of it. He needs him to like it, to want to live here, to want to stay with him. The idea of Mydei not wanting this, not wanting what Phainon is offering him, would be like some kind of stab to the gut. There's no reason for him to think about it, but at the same time... Fear prickles at him.
His eyes are drawn to Mydei's ears, and he hides a smile behind his hand. ]
Once we've moved everything, we can start making changes.
[ Moving closer, he leans into Mydei's body, resting his chin on a shoulder. ]
[ He doesn't like it because it's large, or because it's homey and comforting. He likes it because he can see how it makes Phainon light up to offer it; how could he reject it at all?
And Phainon easily gave the connected room to him. He could have offered another one on this floor, but instead they'll share this. It warms something in his chest, feeling Phainon lean into him and rest a chin on him. ]
There shouldn't be too much to move...?
[ He trails off as if realizing it's - well, it's been almost three months. He has a closet far more robust than the one he kept at home. They bought things specifically for each other, were gifted other items in Decadia from citizens. He supposes it's not as simple as gathering himself and his Chimera, now. ]
[ Phainon relaxes, sinking into him more, unwilling to let go of the moment.
There's no part of him that wants Mydeimos far away, no part of him that wants to give him up. If he had said he didn't want to move, it might have broken a piece of him, so he's glad. He's so glad.
It makes him smile, hiding his face against his friend. ]
It won't take long at all! We can share the heavy lifting, and then it'll be done in a matter of hours.
[ It's a shame Phainon is so dog coded, he missed his calling as a bird or beaver. His other hand settles over the arm around his waist, watching Fig Stew explore the room. ]
We could. Or we could see if there's some kind of moving service.

Now I see why they wanted people to call!

What is the bathing situation looking like?

[ The bathhouse here is.... okay? But there's too much fucking going on in it. Sometimes a man just wants to wash down with his bro!! ]
I'll see to it that ours is well stocked, and ask the others if there's anything they need.

[ In a totally not romantic way, of course. ]
Oh! Do you think we should keep a list on the fridge, so we can get things for each other?

[ Said as if itβs obvious.
Phainon is already rushing to go and look at the bedrooms and show off their shared space, the connecting bathroom. ]
Iβd like to cook for all of us, together if we can, but that might be hard if weβre busy.
no subject
In my experience, yes, you should keep something on hand for them..
[ Most cats he knows hunted for themselves, but a treat never went awry. He makes a considering noise as he follows Phainon. ]
I can't imagine we're so busy we can't make time for a meal.
[ But considering Cipher... ]

Our clothes, the bedding, the bathroom and kitchen supplies - what else is there, besides your ludicrous amount of throw pillows?
[ Mydei is half responsible for those pillows, he buys them for Cipher. ]

[ Untrue. He has a nest. It's comfortable.
His ears wiggle, and he smiles, one arm wrapping around Mydeimos' waist. ]
We could wrap a lot of them in the sheets and carry them that way.

This is probably a good wrapping point but -
